“En Plein Air” means painting outdoors, directly in front of the subject (so not using a photo reference), its certainly a rare privilege to be able to sit and take something in for the amount of time I’d like to for plein air painting. I find it captures much more mood and emotion than when I paint from memory or from pictures.
